There are available a wide variety of machines for editing and composing pages depending on the type, nature and application of the intended printed matter. The prepress network we have built is based on the Macintosh and Windows platforms and is used for digitally integrating all of page elements - text, images, etc. - to make up pages for printing.

Traditionally, DTP digital data was output to film, which was then exposed on photosensitized press plates for printing. The introduction of CTP eliminates the need for film output since digital data is output directly to press plates. This translates into consistent quality, faster process times and cutbacks in film usage, which is environmentally friendly.

8-color printing presses print four colors simultaneously on both sides of paper printing stock, while 12-color printing presses offer the added advantages of custom colors and spot UV varnishing on the extra impression cylinders. Wet ink immediately after printing is irradiated with UV ink to cure it instantly. The advantage of quick-drying by UV curing is fully shown not only in paper but also in non-paper printing stock, such as normally slow-drying plastic, to create greater freedom of expression in printing. The very latest UV printing press, the Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 105-10LX3 with ten impression cylinders, and
6-cylinder UV printing presses are installed at our production sites.
Our UV printing facilities are also augmented by Heidelberg's inline stamping press FoilStar. When foil printing is combined with UV printing, process color, custom color, spot UV varnishing, and a variety of color nuances can be achieved for a higher grade look. Foil can also be applied to fine lines and halftones to create more attractive printed effects.

These presses are capable of printing approximately 48,000 flyers per hour and handling finishing processes up to folding. They support both the A and B paper series and can accommodate printed matter, such as flyers and information magazines, that must be printed in bulk and within short press times.

This form of printing is environmentally friendly since it uses ink containing absolutely no VOCs or volatile organic compounds. As a result, it can be applied to printing on paper containers made of cardboard, for example, and an extensive range of printing stock such as film and stickers.

"Nezuten" is a picture book produced by EINS corporation and is aimed at adults in search of nostalgia. It is based on the "Nezuten Tale" and "Night in Komoridani" works penned by Shiga Prefecture's own famous essayist Soseki Yamamoto. Illustrations are drawn by Kazuo Oga who is actively engaged as art director of animations, such as "Tonari no Totoro," "Omoide Poro Poro" and "Heisei Tanuki Gassen Ponpoko," created by the internationally famous animation house Studio Ghibli.

Alt Studio primarily produces reproductions of works created by other artists. Lithographic and silk screen printing are the printing techniques borrowed to produce these. Thin black coating or soft pencil lines, traditionally regarded as difficult to achieve by offset printing, can be reproduced by lithographic printing to create high value-added prints.
